How We Died

A waiver ringing true

To the one who recognises

The taste behind your words

And the feeling you’ve reminded

What’s happened to my psyche

And am I just too late

To retrieve all the single words

I used to fend off hate

Though as the day grew older

I looked behind your eyes

I saw what once was broken

But now it’s how we died

Resurrecting something

That was there when we all saw

The life that turned decrepit

For the ones who were reborn

Significantly changing

All that rectified your ways

Is something not worth speaking of

For they will never change

So can your morals centre

Once you’ve been brought down to size

And will you still remember

That it was just how we died
